The removable prosthesis is the dental appliance commonly called "denture". It can be total, that is to say replacing all the teeth of a dental arch, or partial; while replacing part of the missing teeth by hooking onto the remaining abutment teeth.
The position of the teeth in the mouth depends on several structures such as the presence of adjacent and antagonistic teeth, the transseptal dental ligaments linking the teeth together, the general muscular forces of the mouth, etc.
If one or more missing teeth are not replaced, dental displacement will therefore take place in the mouth, thus leading to orthodontic, functional, aesthetic and physiognomic problems.
If multiple teeth are missing in the jawbones without being replaced, the chewing load will then concentrate on the remaining teeth, causing them to wear out.

The removable denture is a non-invasive and economical solution to tooth replacements in order to avoid the potential problems mentioned above.
On the other hand, it requires a certain hygienic maintenance, regular alterations and modifications and sometimes can present an insufficient retention and stability especially at the level of the lower arch.
It is for this reason that it is sometimes recommended to combine dental implants with a removable prosthesis.
Mini implants are also an alternative to improving the quality and comfort of a device. They are indeed ideal for patients seeking a solution between conventional prosthesis and complete rehabilitation on implants. This particularly when the patient suffers from a lack of stability and hold of his prosthesis, for example in the case of a significant lack of alveolar bone. The advantages of mini implants are numerous :
